Weather Situation – Northern Western Australia
Southeasterly winds ease from Tuesday as a ridge to the southeast weakens and a
trough develops near the Pilbara west coast. This trough then moves east
through the Pilbara associated with a cold front moving across southern WA on
Thursday. A weak ridge forms over southern WA on Friday.

Weather Situation – Southern and Central Western Australia
A cold front moves over southwestern parts of the state on Tuesday, and remains
over the interior of southern WA on Wednesday. A ridge will extend over the
central west coast in the wake of the cold front, and persist until the weekend.

Forecast for the rest of Monday 18 August
Patchy cloud over southern parts of the state, clear over northern parts.

Forecast for Tuesday 19 August
Gusty showers and thunderstorms southwest of Geraldton to Merredin to
Ravensthorpe, with isolated damaging winds and heavy rain possible over western
parts of the area. Showers extending to remaining parts of the South West Land
Division and southern Goldfields in the afternoon and evening. Chance of
morning fog about the northern Gascoyne coast and west Pilbara coasts. Windy
across much of the state south of the northern Kimberley.

Forecast for Wednesday 20 August
Showers and gusty thunderstorms southwest of Shark Bay to Israelite Bay, with
moderate to heavy falls possible over northern parts of the area. Showers
developing over remaining areas southwest of Exmouth to Madura during the day.
Chance of morning fog about the western Gascoyne, western and coastal Pilbara,
and northwest Kimberley coast. Windy across much of the state south of northern
Kimberley.

Forecast for Thursday 21 August
Showers over the South West Land Division, Goldfields, Gascoyne, western and
central Pilbara, much of the South Interior, and Eucla, mostly clearing during
the afternoon. Chance of morning fog over the western Kimberley, northern
Pilbara, southwest Gascoyne and adjacent South West Land Division.

Forecast for Friday 22 August
Showers about the western south coast, extending east to Israelite Bay during
the day. Slight chance of a shower over remaining southern parts of the South
West Land Division, southeast Pilbara, northeast Gascoyne and north and central
eastern South Interior. Chance of morning frosts and fog over inland southern
parts of the South West Land Division and southwest Goldfields.
