Weather Situation – Northern Western Australia
A trough over western Pilbara is moving inland. Associated patchy cloud band is
expected to weaken on Monday. A ridge developing over southern WA will direct
an east to southeast flow across the region, ahead of a cold front moving
through southern WA on Thursday.
Weather Situation – Southern and Central Western Australia
A cold front over the Goldfields is moving east and will exit the state on
Monday. A high following the cold front over southern WA moves into the Bight
during Tuesday. The next cold front will approach the west coast on Wednesday
and move through southern WA on Thursday.
Forecast for the rest of Sunday 10 August
Showers over the Gascoyne, southwest Pilbara, Goldfields, adjacent South
Interior and Eucla, clearing over western Goldfields in the evening. Light
showers across much of the South West Land Division, contracting to the south
coast in the evening. Chance of a thunderstorm over the far southwest Pilbara,
eastern Gascoyne, eastern Goldfields and Eucla. Windy through the Eucla.
Forecast for Monday 11 August
Showers over southeast Goldfields, South Interior and Eucla, northeast Gascoyne
and southern Pilbara, clearing east during the late morning and afternoon.
Light showers south of a line Yanchep to Bremer Bay. Chance of a thunderstorm
over southern Interior and Eucla in the morning. Possible morning frost through
inland parts of the South West Land Division and southern Goldfields. Morning
fog over inland parts of the South West Land Division, Goldfields, western
Eucla and far west Kimberley.
Forecast for Tuesday 12 August
Light showers south of a line Mandurah to Denmark. Morning frost over inland
parts of the South West Land Division and southwest Goldfields. Morning fog and
frosts over inland southern and central parts of the South West Land Division,
Eucla, southern Goldfields and far west Kimberley.
Forecast for Wednesday 13 August
Showers developing south of a line Dongara to Walpole in the afternoon,
spreading to a line south of Kalbarri to Bremer Bay in the evening. Showers
becoming more frequent over the South West and Lower West districts during the
evening. Morning fog over coastal Gascoyne and southwest Pilbara. Windy at
times across much of the state south of the Kimberley.
Forecast for Thursday 14 August
Showers south of a line Coral Bay to Israelite Bay in the morning, spreading to
eastern Goldfields and Eucla in the afternoon. Showers clearing across the
Gascoyne and contracting to the south coast of the South West Land Division in
the afternoon and evening. Gusty thunderstorms possible over the southern parts
of the South West Land Division with chance of small hail. Windy across the
southern coastal districts, Goldfields and southern Interior.
