Weather Situation – Northern Western Australia
A ridge is weakening over central WA, allowing a trough near the west Pilbara
coast to move inland. Associated cloud band will bring light unseasonal showers
to parts of the Pilbara and Interior before weakening on Monday.
Weather Situation – Southern and Central Western Australia
A cold front near the South West Capes will move inland across the South West
Land Division on Sunday. A ridge will develop over southern WA from later
Sunday, before moving east on Wednesday ahead of the next cold front.
Forecast for the rest of Saturday 9 August
Showers and areas of rain south of a line Carnarvon to Balladonia. Chance of a
gusty thunderstorm over southern and western parts of the South West Land
Division.
Forecast for Sunday 10 August
Showers and areas of rain south of Coral Bay to Eyre, extending to south of a
line Onslow to Eucla during the day. Chance of thunderstorms over the far
western Pilbara and western Gascoyne. Chance of a light shower over central and
eastern Pilbara. Showers and rain clearing across western Gascoyne, and
northern and central parts of the South West Land Division in the afternoon and
evening. Morning fog possible over the far west Kimberley. Windy during the day
through the Interior, Eucla and eastern Goldfields.
Forecast for Monday 11 August
Showers over southeast Goldfields, southern Interior and Eucla, clearing east
during the late morning and afternoon. Light showers over southern parts of the
South West Land Division. Chance of a light shower over northeast Gascoyne and
Pilbara in the morning. Possible morning frost inland parts of the South West
Land Division and southwest Goldfields. Possible morning fog over the inland
northern and central parts of the South West Land Division and northwest
Kimberley.
Forecast for Tuesday 12 August
Light showers south of a line Rockingham to Walpole. Morning frost over inland
parts of the South West Land Division and southwest Goldfields. Morning fog
over inland parts of the South West Land Division, inland western Eucla,
Goldfields and far west Kimberley.
Forecast for Wednesday 13 August
Showers developing south of a line Denham to Bremer Bay, more frequent over the
South West and southern parts of the Lower West districts. Morning frost over
inland parts of the South West Land Division and southwest Goldfields. Morning
fog over inland parts of the South West Land Division, inland Eucla, and far
west Kimberley. Windy across much of the state in the area south of northern
Kimberley.
