Weather Situation – Northern Western Australia
A cold front continues east over southern WA Saturday evening with another on
Sunday. A cloud band will extend over the Pilbara and Interior on Sunday,
weakening on Monday before deepening again from Tuesday. Meanwhile, a weak
ridge will develop across central WA from Monday before slipping south on
Wednesday.
Weather Situation – Southern and Central Western Australia
A cold front continues to move east over southwestern parts Saturday evening
and through the southern Gascoyne, Goldfields and Eucla on Sunday. A second,
stronger, cold front will move over southern WA on Sunday, accompanied by a
vigorous westerly flow. From Monday, a weak ridge will develop across central
WA allowing a moist westerly flow to continue across the southwest coast. A
weak cold front brushes the south coast on Tuesday before the ridge slips south
of the State on Wednesday.
Forecast for the rest of Saturday 2 August
Showers and rain southwest of a line Exmouth to Kalgoorlie. Chance of a squally
thunderstorm near the coast between Busselton and Windy Harbour. Chance of a
shower over the far western Pilbara in the afternoon and evening.
Forecast for Sunday 3 August
Squally showers across the South West Land Division, Gascoyne, Goldfields,
southern and western Interior and Eucla. Showers also over the Pilbara. Gusty
thunderstorms possible across the western and southern coastal districts of the
South West Land Division. Small hail possible over southern parts of the South
West Land Division. Windy across central and southern WA and the North
Interior. Large waves and surf may be hazardous for coastal activities along
the west and south coasts.
Forecast for Monday 4 August
Showers over the South West Land Division and Eucla, more frequent about the
south coast. Chance of a shower over the southwest Kimberley. Morning fog over
the eastern Pilbara, southwest Kimberley and northwest North Interior. Morning
frost through inland central and southern parts of the South West Land Division
and southwest Goldfields. Windy in the morning across the eastern Pilbara, and
throughout the day across Eucla, southeast Interior and near the south coast.
Large waves and surf may be hazardous for coastal activities along the west and
south coasts.
Forecast for Tuesday 5 August
Showers over the South West Land Division, southwest Goldfields, western Eucla,
more frequent near the south coast. Chance of a shower over the central and
western Pilbara. Morning fog possible over the Central West district. Morning
frost through central parts of the State.
Forecast for Wednesday 6 August
Chance of showers over the South West Land Division, southern Goldfields,
Eucla, northeast Gascoyne, Interior and Pilbara. Morning frost possible over
the southern South Interior.
The next routine forecast will be issued at 4:45 am WST Sunday.
