Weather Situation – Northern Western Australia
A high pressure ridge brings fresh and gusty southeasterly surges to northern
WA. The ridge will weaken on Saturday as a trough moves eastwards across the
Pilbara ahead of a pair of cold fronts passing through southern WA over the
weekend. Associated cloud band will extend through the Pilbara and Interior,
weakening on Monday before deepening again from Tuesday. Meanwhile, a weak
ridge will develop through central WA from Monday.
Weather Situation – Southern and Central Western Australia
A ridge of high pressure over southern WA will move eastwards on Friday. A
relatively strong cold front will cross the west coast on Saturday, followed by
a second strong cold front across southern WA on Sunday. A vigorous westerly
flow will accompany the cold fronts. From Monday, a weak ridge will develop
across central WA allowing a moist westerly flow to continue across the
southwest coast.

Light showers possible about the South West Capes.
Forecast for Friday 1 August
Showers about the South West Capes extending to southwest of a line Mandurah to
Windy Harbour during the afternoon and evening. Areas of morning frost in the
far eastern South West Land Division, Goldfields, South Interior and inland
Eucla. Morning fog across inland Eucla, adjacent South Interior and far
northern Kimberley. Windy in the morning through northern Gascoyne and
throughout the day over southern Kimberley, North Interior and Pilbara.
Forecast for Saturday 2 August
Squally showers and rain south of a line Dongara to Bremer Bay, extending
throughout the South West Land Division, western and southern Gascoyne,
southwest Goldfields, and western Eucla during the afternoon and evening. Gusty
thunderstorms possible south of a line Busselton to Albany. Chance of a shower
over western Pilbara in the afternoon and evening. Heavy falls possible over
the Lower West and South West districts that may lead to stream rises and flash
flooding. Windy in the morning across the Kimberley, inland Pilbara and North
Interior, and throughout the day across central and southern WA.
Forecast for Sunday 3 August
Squally showers across the South West Land Division, Gascoyne, Goldfields,
southern and western Interior and Eucla, clearing across northern Gascoyne and
western Pilbara in the afternoon. Showers over the Pilbara, spreading to the
far southwest Kimberley during the day. Gusty thunderstorms possible across the
western and southern coastal districts of the South West Land Division. Heavy
falls possible over the Lower West and South West districts that may lead to
stream rises and flash flooding. Small hail possible over southern parts of the
South West Land Division. Patchy morning fog in the far western Kimberley and
far western Pilbara. Windy in the morning across North Interior, and throughout
the day across central and southern WA. Large waves and surf may be hazardous
for coastal activities along the west and south coasts.

Showers over the South West Land Division, adjacent southern Gascoyne,
Goldfields, northern Pilbara, southwest Kimberley, southern and western
Interior and Eucla, more frequent about the south coast. Morning fog across
northern parts of the South West Land Division, central and southern Gascoyne.
Morning frosts through inland South West Land Division. Windy in the morning
across inland northern Pilbara, and throughout the day across Eucla, southeast
Interior and about the south coast. Large waves and surf may be hazardous for
coastal activities along the west and south coasts.
