Weather Situation – Northern Western Australia
A patchy cloud band over the Kimberley will contract east tonight. A ridge
developing over central WA will bring a fresh and gusty east to southeasterly
wind surge on Saturday. A trough near the west coast of Pilbara will move
inland ahead of a cold front passing through southern WA during Sunday and
Monday. A new ridge developing over central WA on Monday will bring another
cooler, drier wind surge from Tuesday.
Weather Situation – Southern and Central Western Australia
A high pressure ridge extends a cool to cold air stream across the south. The
next moderate cold front will move through southern WA on Sunday and Monday,
followed by another cold outbreak. A new ridge will develop across central WA
later Monday into Tuesday.
Forecast for the rest of Friday 25 July
Light showers over southern parts of the South West Land Division, southern
Goldfields and Eucla, more frequent over eastern Eucla. Windy across Eucla and
adjacent southeast Interior.
Forecast for Saturday 26 July
Light showers or drizzle possible over South East Coastal, Eucla, southern
Goldfields and far southern Interior . Showers developing west of Bunbury to
Walpole during the day, becoming more frequent with chance of a gusty
thunderstorm in the evening. Widespread morning frosts through inland parts of
the South West Land Division, Gascoyne, Goldfields, South Interior and
southeast Pilbara. Chance of morning fog over the southwest Goldfields, inland
South West Land Division and far northern Kimberley. Cold across central WA.
Windy in the morning over the Pilbara, North Interior and southern Kimberley.
Forecast for Sunday 27 July
Showers and areas of rain over South West Land Division and western Gascoyne,
extending to eastern Gascoyne, Goldfields, western Eucla and far southwest
Pilbara during the afternoon and evening. Isolated gusty thunderstorms about
the west and south coasts of the South West Land Division. Heavy falls possible
in the South West and Lower West districts. Possible small hail south of a line
Perth to Albany. Areas of frost in the morning over the eastern parts of the
South West Land Division, Goldfields, South Interior, inland Gascoyne and
southeast Pilbara. Possible morning fog in the far northern Kimberley and
chance of morning frost in the South Interior. Windy in the afternoon across
the Gascoyne and South West Land Division.
Forecast for Monday 28 July
Showers over the South West Land Division, Gascoyne, western Pilbara,
Goldfields, southern Interior and Eucla, more frequent about the south and west
coasts. Possible small hail through central and southern parts of the South
west Land Division and southern Goldfields. Chance of gusty thunderstorms near
the south and west coasts. Possible morning fog in the far northern Kimberley.
Cold across central and southern WA. Possible snow flurries over the higher
peaks of Stirling Ranges. Windy across the state south of the Kimberley.
Forecast for Tuesday 29 July
Showers over the central and southern parts South West Land Division, southern
Goldfields, far southern Interior and Eucla, more frequent about the south
coast. Widespread morning frosts through inland parts of the South West Land
Division, Gascoyne, northern Goldfields, South Interior and southeast Pilbara.
Possible morning fog in the far northeast Kimberley. Cool to cold across the
state south of the Kimberley. Windy at times across the state south of the
northern Kimberley.
The next routine forecast will be issued at 4:45 am WST Saturday.
