Weather Situation – Northern Western Australia
A weak trough over the Interior is contracting into the Kimberley. A patchy
cloud band is slowly contracting east across the southern Kimberley and
Interior. A ridge developing across the central WA coast will bring a south to
southeast wind change by Tuesday. Another trough will develop near the Pilbara
west coast on Wednesday and move inland ahead of the next cold front over
southern WA on Thursday. Associated cloud band on Wednesday and Thursday will
bring unseasonal light rain to most parts.
Weather Situation – Southern and Central Western Australia
A ridge is developing across central WA, while a weak trough is maintaining a
moist onshore flow across the west coast of the South West Land Division. A
cold front will move through southwest WA on Wednesday and across southern WA
on Thursday. A new ridge will extend over southwest WA on Friday.
Forecast for the rest of Monday 21 July
Showers over the southern coastal districts, southeast Interior and along the
west coast of the South West Land Division south of Geraldton. Chance of a
light shower over the Great Southern and far southern Goldfields. Windy across
the eastern Interior and eastern Eucla in the early evening.
Forecast for Tuesday 22 July
Light showers over western and central parts of the South West Land Division
and Eucla coast, more frequent about the west coast south of Geraldton. Morning
frosts through northern parts of the South West Land Division, Gascoyne,
Goldfields, South Interior and southeast Pilbara. Chance of morning fog over
western Kimberley and inland parts of the South West Land Division. Windy in
the morning over the southern Kimberley, northern parts of the Pilbara and
North Interior.
Forecast for Wednesday 23 July
Showers over the South West Land Division, western and northern Goldfields,
western Pilbara, Gascoyne and adjacent central Interior. Showers more frequent
over the western districts and along the south coast of the South West Land
Division with chance of gusty thunderstorms. Heavy falls possible along the
west and southwest coasts. Morning frosts through far eastern Gascoyne, eastern
Goldfields, South Interior and southeast Pilbara. Chance of morning fog over
northern Kimberley. Windy across the southern coastal districts.
Forecast for Thursday 24 July
Partly cloudy across eastern Kimberley. Showers and areas of rain over the
remainder of the state. Chance of thunderstorms along the west and south coasts
of the South West Land Division. Small hail possible about the southwest
districts. Cold throughout the South West Land Division, Goldfields and
southern Gascoyne. Snow flurries possible over the Stirling Ranges. Chance of
morning fog over north and northwest Kimberley. Windy across much of the state
south of the northern Kimberley.
Forecast for Friday 25 July
Showers and areas of rain over southern parts of the South West Land Division,
southern Goldfields, Eucla, northeast Pilbara, eastern and northern Interior,
and the Kimberley. Chance of thunderstorms along Eucla coast. Chance of morning
fog over northwest Kimberley. Morning frosts through inland parts of the South
West Land Division, Gascoyne, western Goldfields, central Interior and
southeast Pilbara. Chance of morning fog over north and northwest Kimberley.
Windy across the Interior, southeast Goldfields and Eucla.
The next routine forecast will be issued at 4:45 am WST Tuesday.
