Weather Situation – Northern Western Australia
A weak trough lies near coastal parts of the Kimberley and east Pilbara and
will remain in place for the next few days. Ridging that extends through inland
northern parts will gradually break down going into the weekend, resulting in
an easing of east to southeasterly winds.

Weather Situation – Southern and Central Western Australia
A new high pressure ridge is strengthening over southern WA in the wake of a
cold front. The ridge will give way on Friday as a weak cold front brushes the
southern part of the State, then another ridge will move through southern WA
during Friday night and Saturday. A stronger cold front will reach the west
coast later on Sunday.

Forecast for the rest of Wednesday 16 July
Light showers near the south coast between Cape Leeuwin and Israelite Bay.
Generally clear skies over northern and central WA.

Forecast for Thursday 17 July
Possible light showers south and west of a line from Yanchep to Katanning, and
in the morning about the south coast to the west of Israelite Bay. Morning fog
and frosts over inland South West Land Division, Goldfields, southern Gascoyne,
southern Interior and inland Eucla. Possible morning fog over the far northern
Kimberley. Fresh and gusty winds in the morning through the Pilbara, northern
Gascoyne and North Interior.

Forecast for Friday 18 July
Showers south of a line from Geraldton to Norseman to Eucla, easing by the
afternoon across the west coast and inland South West Land Division. much of
the South West Land Division, southwest Goldfields and western Eucla. Morning
frost over the northern parts of the South West Land Division, eastern
Gascoyne, Goldfields, and southern Interior. Possible morning fog over the far
northern Kimberley. Windy at times over the southern coastal districts.

Forecast for Saturday 19 July
Possible light showers over the Lower West and south coasts, and across the
South West. Areas of early frost and fog over the northern and central South
West Land Division, southern Gascoyne, Goldfields and South Interior. Possible
morning fog over the far northern Kimberley. Fresh winds about the southern
districts. Clear skies throughout northern and central WA.

Forecast for Sunday 20 July
Becoming windy across much of the South West Land Division, Goldfields and
Gascoyne with the approach of a stronger cold front. Showers, possibly heavy,
extending through the South West Land Division mainly in the afternoon and
evening. Chance of thunderstorms in the South West and Lower West. Showers
developing in the southern and western Gascoyne, Goldfields and western Eucla.
Possible morning fog over inland parts in the north and west Kimberley.
