Weather Situation – Northern Western Australia
A high pressure ridge extends from the Interior and into the Pilbara. A new
ridge developing over central parts of the State on Tuesday and Wednesday will
bring a return of gusty southeasterly winds, over most areas.
Weather Situation – Southern and Central Western Australia
A cold front embedded in a vigorous westerly flow is moving over the South West
Land Division during the remainder of Sunday. Another stronger cold front and
associated cold pool will move through on Monday. A ridge develops over central
parts of the State on Tuesday and slips southwards on Wednesday.
Forecast for the rest of Sunday 6 July
Showers and rain throughout the South West Land Division. Gusty showers and
thunderstorms with isolated heavy falls possible between Perth and Walpole.
Chance of showers also near the far south Gascoyne coast. Windy over the South
West Land Division and adjacent Goldfields and Gascoyne.
Forecast for Monday 7 July
Gusty showers over the South West Land Division, Gascoyne, Goldfields, Eucla
and southern South Interior. The chance of a squally thunderstorm in coastal
areas between Bunbury and Esperance. Possible small hail over southern coastal
districts. Chance of showers also for the far west Pilbara. Patchy morning
frost over central and eastern parts of the State. Very windy over the southern
half of the State.
Forecast for Tuesday 8 July
Showers along the west coast south of Geraldton, and along the south coast,
extending inland to much of the South West Land Division during the afternoon.
Windy through southern coastal districts, and over the western Pilbara and
Gascoyne in the morning. Patchy morning frost over the Central Wheat Belt,
northern Great Southern, southeast Gascoyne and Goldfields.
Forecast for Wednesday 9 July
Showers near the south coast, mostly east of Albany and contracting to the
Eucla in the afternoon. Chance of showers over the southern Goldfields, mostly
morning. Possible morning fog over the inland northern South West Land
Division. Patchy morning frost over central and eastern parts of the State and
possibly over the southwest Central Wheat Belt and northwest Great Southern.
Forecast for Thursday 10 July
Showers southwest of Mandurah to Walpole, with a chance north to Perth.
Possible morning fog over the central South West Land Division and southwest
Goldfields. Patchy morning frost over the inland South West Land Division and
central and eastern parts of the State.
The next routine forecast will be issued at 4:45 am WST Monday.
