Weather Situation – Northern Western Australia
A ridge of high pressure brings fresh and gusty southeasterly winds over the
Pilbara and southwest Kimberley, and dominates the weather pattern for the
week. Winds lighten on Thursday as the high moves off to the east and a cold
front approaches the south of the state.
Weather Situation – Southern and Central Western Australia
A vigorous low pressure system in the Bight will continue moving east. Another
cold front will move across the south of WA this evening and tomorrow, and then
will be followed by a ridge of high pressure which will dominate the weather
pattern for the rest of the week. A front approaches the southwest on Thursday
morning.
Forecast for the rest of Sunday 22 June
Showers over much of the South West Land Division, with lighter showers over
inland and northern parts. Chance of a gusty coastal thunderstorm between
Walpole and Esperance. Very windy over southern coastal districts.
Forecast for Monday 23 June
Gusty showers over southern coastal districts with a low chance of a shower
over the remainder of the South West Land Division. Chance gusty thunderstorms
about the Esperance coastal fringe with possible small hail. Possible morning
fog about the southern Gascoyne and northern Central West. Patchy morning frost
over the Interior. Windy morning in the Pilbara, and near the south coast and
through the Eucla district.
Forecast for Tuesday 24 June
Light showers about the south coastal districts, with the chance of a shower
over the Great Southern and about southern parts of the Lower West, Central
Wheat Belt and Goldfields districts. Possible morning fog about inland parts of
the South West Land Division. Patchy morning frost over the Central Wheat Belt,
Great Southern and Interior. Windy morning over the Eucla, eastern Pilbara,
North Interior, and southern Kimberley.
Forecast for Wednesday 25 June
The chance of a light shower about the south coastal districts. Possible
morning fog about much of the south of the State. Patchy morning frost over the
Central Wheat Belt, Great Southern and central parts of the state. Windy
morning over the eastern Pilbara.
Forecast for Thursday 26 June
Showers about the Lower West, South West, South Coastal and Great Southern
districts, and light showers over the Eucla. Possible morning fog about the
Eucla. Patchy morning frost over inland parts of the South West Land Division
and central parts of the state.
The next routine forecast will be issued at 4:45 am WST Monday.
