Weather Situation – Northern Western Australia
A ridge across central Australia is directing east to northeasterly winds
across the north. Winds become westerly behind a cold front and trough passing
through the State during today and Saturday. A new ridge building across the
Gascoyne will bring a southerly wind change to the Pilbara over the weekend.
Weather Situation – Southern and Central Western Australia
An active cold front continues to sweep through the South West Land Division
and Gascoyne, moving further inland on the weekend. A ridge of high pressure
will build across the Midwest coast from Sunday as another cold front brushes
past the south coast.
Forecast for the rest of Friday 20 June
Showers over the South West Land Division, western Goldfields, most parts of
the Gascoyne, and western Pilbara, tending to rain about western districts of
the South West Land Division with possible heavy falls. Chance of a gusty
thunderstorm southwest of a line from Geraldton to Bremer Bay. Windy at times
over the South West Land Division, Gascoyne and western Goldfields.
Forecast for Saturday 21 June
Showers over the South West Land Division, Goldfields, Gascoyne, Eucla, western
parts of South Interior, and western and central Pilbara. Chance of a gusty
thunderstorm in coastal areas between Geraldton and Israelite Bay. Small hail
possible in the southwest. Windy across central and southern WA.
Forecast for Sunday 22 June
Showers over the South West Land Division, adjacent southern Gascoyne, eastern
Eucla and southeast South Interior, more frequent about the south coast west of
Israelite Bay. Chance of a gusty coastal thunderstorm between Augusta and
Esperance. Possible morning frost over the northeast Gascoyne, adjacent South
Interior and northern Goldfields. Very windy over southern coastal districts
east of Bremer Bay.
Forecast for Monday 23 June
Gusty showers over southern coastal districts with the chance of a shower over
the remainder of the South West Land Division. Chance of a gusty thunderstorm
about the south coast between Albany and Israelite Bay. Possible morning fog
about the southern Gascoyne and northern Central West. Patchy morning frost in
the Central Wheat Belt, Great Southern, and Interior. Windy near the south
coast and through the Eucla district.
Forecast for Tuesday 24 June
Showers about the south coastal districts, with the chance of a shower over the
Great Southern and about southern parts of the Lower West, Central Wheat Belt
and Goldfields districts. Possible morning fog about inland parts of the South
West Land Division. Patchy morning frost over the Central Wheat Belt, Great
Southern, South West, inland Lower West and Interior. Windy morning over the
eastern Pilbara, North Interior, and southern Kimberley.
