Weather Situation – Northern Western Australia
A ridge to the south will direct easterly winds over the area during the next
few days as a series of low pressure systems move across the south of the
state. Winds lighten and become westerly behind a cold front passing through
the state on Friday.

Weather Situation – Southern and Central Western Australia
A low pressure system and associated cold front will move over southwest WA
today. As this system weakens, a new cold front reaches the coast and moves
through southwest WA on Friday.

Forecast for the rest of Wednesday 18 June
Showers southwest of a line Exmouth to Southern Cross to Bremer Bay, extending
to southwest of a line Exmouth to Kalgoorlie to Israelite Bay during the
afternoon and evening. Showers more frequent with possible rain periods and
moderate falls over western districts of the South West Land Division and
adjacent southwest coastal Gascoyne. Chance of a gusty thunderstorm about the
coastal fringe between Geraldton and Cape Leeuwin.

Forecast for Thursday 19 June
Showers southwest of a line Onslow to Leonora to Caiguna.

Forecast for Friday 20 June
Showers over the South West Land Division, north and west Goldfields, most
parts of the Gascoyne, and western Pilbara. Showers more frequent about western
districts of the South West Land Division with the chance of a thunderstorm
about the coastal fringe between Lancelin and Albany. Possible morning fog over
the western Pilbara, northeast Gascoyne and northwest Goldfields. Windy over
southwestern parts of the state.

Forecast for Saturday 21 June
Showers over the South West Land Division, Goldfields, Gascoyne, Eucla,
southwest South Interior and western and central Pilbara. Chance of a gusty
coastal thunderstorm between Augusta and Esperance.

The next routine forecast will be issued at 4:30 pm WST Wednesday.
