Weather Situation – Northern Western Australia
A ridge should persist over the north of the State for the next few days. A
trough lies over the west Pilbara which will be pushed eastwards on Thursday by
a new high pressure ridge extending across central parts of the State.
Weather Situation – Southern and Central Western Australia
A trough just inland from the west coast will move east during today, ahead of
a cold front moving through in the morning and afternoon. A low pressure system
will then move east near the south coast on Thursday.
Forecast for the rest of Wednesday 23 April
Showers and gusty thunderstorms over the South West Land Division. Chance of
showers and isolated thunderstorms over the Gascoyne, southwest Goldfields and
most of the Pilbara. Becoming very windy about the far southwest coast later in
the evening.
Forecast for Thursday 24 April
Showers throughout the South West Land Division, more likely over far southern
parts and about the west coast, easing from the west during the day. Chance of
thunderstorms about the south coast. Showers also over the Goldfields, Eucla
and southern South Interior, with the chance of showers over the Gascoyne and
west Pilbara. Chance of thunderstorms over the west Pilbara. Milder over the
southwest of the State. Very windy about the south coast, easing from the west
during the day.
Forecast for Friday 25 April
Showers possible over southern districts, extending into southern parts of the
Great Southern, Goldfields and Interior. Chance of morning fog over the far
southwest inland South West Land Division. Windy over the Eucla, Pilbara and
northern Gascoyne.
Forecast for Saturday 26 April
Possible showers about the south coastal districts, eastern Goldfields,
southern South Interior and Eucla. Chance of morning fog over South Coastal
districts. Windy over the Pilbara, northern Gascoyne and North Interior.
The next routine forecast will be issued at 4:30 pm WST Wednesday.
