Weather Situation – Northern Western Australia
Ex Tropical Cyclone Errol has now crossed the west Kimberley coast and is
moving further inland, reaching the central Kimberley on Saturday and weakens
further. Elsewhere, a trough lies over the North Interior, moving east on
Saturday. Another trough lies near the Pilbara coast which will pushed offshore
during the mornings due to a strong ridge to the south.

Weather Situation – Southern and Central Western Australia
A trough is moving east over the far east South Interior and Eucla, clearing
the State by Saturday. A strong high pressure ridge is developing from the west
in the wake of the trough. The high will move through the Southern Ocean during
the weekend as a new trough starts to deepen offshore from the west coast by
Sunday. The trough will move inland during Wednesday.

Forecast for the rest of Friday 18 April
Showers and thunderstorms over the northeast Pilbara, North Interior and
Kimberley, increasing to squally rain over the northwest of the region. Showers
and thunderstorms over the eastern and southern South Interior, Eucla and far
eastern Goldfields with possible heavy falls, contracting eastwards. Possible
showers about the south coast.

Forecast for Saturday 19 April
Showers and thunderstorms over the northeast North Interior and Kimberley, with
possible heavy falls in the northwest Kimberley in the morning. Showers over
the south coastal districts, Eucla and southern South Interior. Chance of a
shower over the eastern Great Southern, southeast Central Wheat Belt and
southern Goldfields, most likely during the morning. Mild conditions throughout
southern and central WA.

Forecast for Sunday 20 April
Showers and thunderstorms over the Kimberley and west Pilbara. Chance of
showers in the North Interior, and early in the day about the south coast.
Possible afternoon thunderstorms in the inland northwest Gascoyne. Remaining
mild in the eastern South West Land Division, Goldfields and Eucla but starting
to warm down the west coast.

Forecast for Monday 21 April
Showers over the Kimberley and North Interior. Chance of showers over the west
Pilbara, Gascoyne and northern South West Land Division. Chance of
thunderstorms over the inland southern and northeast Kimberley and adjacent
North Interior, west Pilbara, western Gascoyne and northern Central West
district. Warm near the west coast.

Forecast for Tuesday 22 April
Possible showers over the Kimberley, east Pilbara, North Interior and most of
the South West Land Division. Warm over western parts of the South West Land
Division.

The next routine forecast will be issued at 4:45 am WST Saturday.
