Weather Situation – Northern Western Australia
A broad trough lies over northern parts. The trough will be pushed towards the
Pilbara and Kimberley coasts at times, as a ridge to the south strengthens and
brings moderate to fresh easterly winds to the area.
Weather Situation – Southern and Central Western Australia
A high pressure ridge extends across southern WA, though a weak trough will
brush the far southern coast this morning. As the high pressure system moves
towards the Bight, a trough will develop down the west coast later today. The
trough will deepen on Friday before moving inland on Saturday.
Forecast for the rest of Thursday 10 April
Light showers over southern coastal districts, mostly morning. Chance of a
shower or thunderstorm over the central and western Pilbara, and adjacent
northern Gascoyne.
Forecast for Friday 11 April
Chance of an afternoon shower or thunderstorm over the western Pilbara and
inland Gascoyne. Chance of a late evening shower or thunderstorm over the
southern Central West, Lower West, northern South West, and northwest Great
Southern districts. Slight chance of a shower in the far north Kimberley. Windy
over central and northern parts.
Forecast for Saturday 12 April
Showers and the chance of thunderstorms possible over most parts of the South
West Land Division, southeast Gascoyne, and southwest Goldfields. Chance of a
shower or thunderstorm about the north Kimberley coast. Windy over central,
eastern and northern parts.
Forecast for Sunday 13 April
Showers and the chance of thunderstorms over eastern parts of the South West
Land Division, southwest Goldfields and far southeast Gascoyne. Showers over
the remainder of the South West Land Division, Goldfields, western Eucla and
southern Gascoyne.
The next routine forecast will be issued at 4:30 pm WST Thursday.
