Weather Situation – Northern Western Australia
A broad trough lies over northern parts. The trough will be pushed towards the
Pilbara and Kimberley coasts at times later in the week as a ridge to the south
strengthens and brings moderate to fresh easterly winds to the area.
Weather Situation – Southern and Central Western Australia
A trough continues to move east ahead a new high pressure ridge will extend
across southern WA today, with a high pressure system forming in the Bight and
trough developing down the west coast on Thursday. The trough will deepen on
Friday before moving inland on Saturday.
Forecast for the rest of Wednesday 9 April
Light showers, mostly in the morning, over southern parts of the South West
Land Division, southern and eastern Goldfields, South Interior and Eucla.
Chance of a shower or thunderstorm over the central and eastern Pilbara and
southwest Kimberley. Chance of morning fog over the inland Central West and
Lower West districts, and Central Wheat Belt.
Forecast for Thursday 10 April
Light showers over southern coastal districts and far southern Goldfields.
Chance of a shower or thunderstorm over the central and western Pilbara, and
adjacent northern Gascoyne. Chance of morning fog over inland southwestern
parts of the South West Land Division, inland eastern South East Coastal
district and inland western Eucla.
Forecast for Friday 11 April
Chance of a shower or thunderstorm over the western Pilbara and inland
Gascoyne. Slight chance of a shower in the far north Kimberley. Light shower
possible in the evening over the Lower West and adjacent South West district.
Chance of morning fog over the inland eastern South East Coastal district and
inland western Eucla. Windy over central and northern parts.
Forecast for Saturday 12 April
Showers and thunderstorms possible over most parts of the South West Land
Division, southeast Gascoyne, and western and southern Goldfields. Chance of a
shower or thunderstorm about the north Kimberley coast. Windy over central,
eastern and northern parts.
The next routine forecast will be issued at 4:30 pm WST Wednesday.
