Weather Situation – Northern Western Australia
A trough over western Pilbara is drifting east and will move into the Northern
Interior around the middle of the week. Another trough will develop over
western Pilbara on Thursday as a ridge located offshore weakens. A ridge
through central Australia will direct a drier easterly flow into the Kimberley
from today.
Weather Situation – Southern and Central Western Australia
A trough over the South West Land Division is moving towards the Goldfields,
followed by another trough that will move across the southwest coast today.
Associated cloud band over southwest WA will contract east during today. A new
ridge of high pressure will extend across southern WA from Wednesday. The west
coast trough returns on Thursday.
Forecast for the rest of Tuesday 8 April
Possible showers or thunderstorms over northern and western Kimberley, central
and eastern Pilbara, southern and eastern Gascoyne, South West Land Division,
western Eucla, Goldfields and adjacent South Interior, more frequent with
possible heavy falls about southern Goldfields and South East Coastal district.
Chance of morning fog through western parts of the South West Land Division.
Forecast for Wednesday 9 April
Light showers over southern parts of the South West Land Division, southern and
eastern Goldfields, Eucla, far northeast Gascoyne and South Interior. Chance of
a shower or thunderstorm over inland Pilbara and southwest Kimberley.
Forecast for Thursday 10 April
Light showers over southern coastal districts, far southern Goldfields and
Eucla. Chance of a shower or thunderstorm over Pilbara and adjacent northern
Gascoyne. Chance of morning fog over inland parts of South East Coastal and
adjacent Eucla districts.
Forecast for Friday 11 April
Chance of a shower or thunderstorm over western Pilbara and inland Gascoyne.
Light shower possible about the south coast and southwestern parts of the South
West Land Division.
The next routine forecast will be issued at 4:30 pm WST Tuesday.
