Weather Situation – Northern Western Australia
A trough will remain roughly stationary near the west Pilbara coast for most of
the week.
Weather Situation – Southern and Central Western Australia
A ridge of high pressure is extending along the south coast. A trough offshore
from the west coast should gradually move inland during Friday and Saturday. A
low pressure system should form offshore from the Central West Coast and remain
there through to the weekend.
Forecast for the rest of Thursday 3 April
Possible showers over the Kimberley, near the Pilbara coast, and west Pilbara.
Showers developing south of a line Jurien Bay to Esperance in the afternoon,
with the chance of an evening thunderstorm in coastal areas between Jurien Bay
and Mandurah. Windy through the Gascoyne, Central West, southern Kimberley and
North Interior.
Forecast for Friday 4 April
Possible showers over the Kimberley, near the Pilbara coast, and west Pilbara.
Showers extending over the South West Land Division, southwestern Goldfields
and Eucla coast, with areas of rain through the Great Southern. Chance of
thunderstorms in coastal parts of the Central West and Lower West. Windy across
much of the South West Land Division and southern Gascoyne.
Forecast for Saturday 5 April
Showers over the Kimberley, western Pilbara, Gascoyne, South West Land
Division, southwest Goldfields and near the Eucla coast. Chance of
thunderstorms in the far northeastern Kimberley. Windy over the southern
Gascoyne, Central Wheat Belt and Lower West.
Forecast for Sunday 6 April
Chance of a shower across much of the state with showers being more likely over
the South West Land Division. Chance of thunderstorms in the northeastern
Kimberley, southern Central West, Lower West, western Central Wheat Belt, and
northwestern Great Southern.
The next routine forecast will be issued at 4:30 pm WST Thursday.
