Weather Situation – Northern Western Australia
A broad trough lies over inland parts of northern WA. A high pressure ridge
will strengthen to the south on Sunday, pushing the broad trough northwards
over the Pilbara coast.
Weather Situation – Southern and Central Western Australia
A strong high pressure system is moving east into the Bight. A new trough will
form down the west coast, and deepen on Monday. On Tuesday the west coast
trough starts moving inland with a weak cold front passing to the south of the
state.
Forecast for the rest of Saturday 15 March
Showers and gusty thunderstorms over the Kimberley, Interior, far eastern
Goldfields, most parts of the Pilbara apart from the far west, northeast
Gascoyne, Eucla and far eastern parts of Southeast Coastal district. Showers
over the remaining South East Coastal and southern districts of the South West
Land Division.
Forecast for Sunday 16 March
Showers and gusty thunderstorms over the Kimberley, Interior, Pilbara, northern
Gascoyne, and far northern Goldfields. Light showers and drizzle, especially in
the morning, about the Great Southern, eastern and southern parts of Central
Wheat Belt, southern Goldfields, Eucla, South East Coastal, South Coastal and
South West districts. Mild temperatures over southern WA, very hot through
southern Kimberley, Interior, northwest Gascoyne and Pilbara. Windy over
central and southern WA.
Forecast for Monday 17 March
Showers and gusty thunderstorms over northern and western parts of the
Kimberley, northern and western Pilbara, northwest Gascoyne, eastern and
northern parts of the Interior. Chance of morning showers over the South East
Coastal district, southern Goldfields and Eucla. Windy over the Pilbara,
Interior, Gascoyne, northern Goldfields, Eucla, northern and western parts of
the South West Land Division. Very hot through southern Kimberley, North
Interior, northwest Gascoyne, western and northern Pilbara.
Forecast for Tuesday 18 March
Showers and thunderstorms over the Kimberley, Pilbara, northern Gascoyne,
Interior and adjacent Goldfields. Windy in the morning in the northern Interior.
Forecast for Wednesday 19 March
Showers and thunderstorms over the Kimberley, Pilbara, northern Gascoyne,
Interior and adjacent Goldfields. Showers over the southern districts.
