Weather Situation – Northern Western Australia
A trough near the Pilbara coast extending into southern Kimberley will slowly
move further inland over the next few days. A new trough will develop over
southwest Pilbara early next week.

Weather Situation – Southern and Central Western Australia
A strong high pressure system south of the State is moving east. A west coast
trough is slowly moving across the South West Land Division, ahead of a weak
front arriving near the southwest coast later today. On the weekend, the trough
will continue to move east into the Goldfields and Interior, while the cold
front will brush past the south coast. A new ridge will develop over southwest
WA later Saturday. Another trough will develop over inland parts of the South
West Land Division early next week.

Forecast for the rest of Friday 7 March
Showers and gusty thunderstorms over the north and west Kimberley, west Pilbara
and west Gascoyne. Chance of a late shower about the southwest coast. Very hot
over the Kimberley, Pilbara, western Gascoyne, northern Interior and inland and
eastern parts of the South West Land Division. Windy in the morning over the
North Interior, Pilbara and adjacent southern Kimberley. Chance of smoke haze
about southwest districts.

Forecast for Saturday 8 March
Showers and gusty thunderstorms over the Kimberley, western Pilbara, eastern
Gascoyne, western Goldfields and far eastern parts of the South West Land
Division. Showers over the southern districts and along the west coast of the
South West Land Division. Very hot over northern parts of the State.

Forecast for Sunday 9 March
Showers and thunderstorms over the Kimberley, most of the Pilbara, northeast
Gascoyne, Interior and adjacent eastern Goldfields. Showers over southern
districts. Very hot over northern parts of the State, Interior, far eastern
Goldfields and inland parts of Eucla.

Forecast for Monday 10 March
Showers and thunderstorms over the Kimberley, most of the Pilbara, northeast
Gascoyne, Interior and adjacent northeast Goldfields. Showers over southern
coastal districts. Very hot over central parts of the state.

The next routine forecast will be issued at 4:30 pm WST Friday.
