Weather Situation – Northern Western Australia
A broad low pressure trough lies over northern WA and will be pushed closer to
the Pilbara coast from Wednesday as a high pressure ridge strengthens to the
south and brings fresh east to southeasterly winds to the area.

Weather Situation – Southern and Central Western Australia
A deep trough extending from the Gascoyne, through the Goldfields and to the
central south coast will continue to move east ahead of a weak cold front
moving along the south coast this morning. A new high pressure ridge will then
rapidly develop south of the State with a strong high pressure system situated
in Bight waters and a deep trough down the west coast by Thursday.

Forecast for the rest of Tuesday 4 March
Showers and gusty thunderstorms over the Kimberley, far north and west
Interior, Pilbara, inland Gascoyne, and north and central Goldfields. Chance of
a thunderstorm, mostly in the morning, over the eastern Central Wheat Belt,
northern South East Coastal district and southern Goldfields. Light showers
over southern and central parts of the South West Land Division, clearing from
the west. Possible showers developing about the western Eucla in the afternoon.
Very hot over the north and east of the State, milder about the southwest.
Fresh southerly winds extending over southeastern parts in the afternoon and
evening.

Forecast for Wednesday 5 March
Showers and gusty thunderstorms over the Kimberley, northern North Interior,
and north, central and west Pilbara. Possible showers over the southeast
Goldfields and Eucla, mostly in the morning. Very hot over northern parts of
the State. Windy over central and southern parts, gusty in the morning about
the Darling Scarp.

Forecast for Thursday 6 March
Showers and gusty thunderstorms over the Kimberley and adjacent northeast
Pilbara. Very hot over northern parts, western Gascoyne and northwestern parts
of the South West Land Division. Windy over most parts of the state apart from
the Kimberley, gusty in the morning about the Darling Scarp.

Forecast for Friday 7 March
Showers and thunderstorms over the north and west Kimberley, west Pilbara and
northwest Gascoyne. Chance of a late shower abut the western south coast. Very
hot over northern parts, western Gascoyne and inland parts of the South West
Land Division. Windy in the morning over the North Interior, Pilbara and inland
Gascoyne.
