Weather Situation – Northern Western Australia
A broad low pressure trough persists over northern WA.
Weather Situation – Southern and Central Western Australia
A high pressure ridge is becoming established south of the State. A trough will
deepen just inland from the west coast today, and will move east on Sunday and
Monday. A weak cold front moves over the far southwest coast of the State
Monday evening and far southern parts of the South West Land Division on
Tuesday, mostly morning.
Forecast for the rest of Saturday 1 March
Showers and gusty thunderstorms over the north and west Kimberley, north and
west Pilbara, Gascoyne, Goldfields, and northeastern Central Wheat Belt. Chance
of a light shower about the south coastal fringe. Chance of morning fog over
far southern parts of the South West Land Division. Very hot over western parts
of the Pilbara, inland Gascoyne, central Interior, northern Goldfields and far
northeast Central West District.
Forecast for Sunday 2 March
Showers and gusty thunderstorms over the north and west Kimberley, north and
west Pilbara, inland Gascoyne, and far northern Goldfields. Very hot over
western parts of the Pilbara, inland Gascoyne, central Interior, northern
Goldfields and northeast South West Land Division.
Forecast for Monday 3 March
Showers and gusty thunderstorms over the Kimberley, north and west Pilbara,
inland Gascoyne, Goldfields, eastern parts of the South East Coastal district
and far west Eucla. Showers developing over the far southwest of the South West
Land Division in the late afternoon and evening. Chance of morning fog over
western and southern parts of the South West Land Division. Apart from the
Lower West and South West districts, very hot of the remainder of the State.
Forecast for Tuesday 4 March
Showers and gusty thunderstorms over the Kimberley, Pilbara, northeast
Gascoyne, northern Goldfields and far west Interior. Showers, mostly morning
over southern parts of the South West Land Division. Chance of morning fog over
the inland central western parts of the South West Land Division. Very hot over
the north and east of the State, milder about the southwest.
The next routine forecast will be issued at 4:30 pm WST Saturday.
