Weather Situation – Northern Western Australia
A broad trough lies over northern parts of the state.
Weather Situation – Southern and Central Western Australia
A high pressure system lies to the south of the state with a trough near the
west coast. The trough will deepen in the middle of the week before moving
inland on Thursday ahead of a cold front forecast to brush the southwest corner
on Friday.
Forecast for the rest of Tuesday 18 February
Showers and gusty thunderstorms over the Kimberley, north Pilbara inland from
the coast, Interior, eastern Goldfields and Eucla. Showers possible over the
remaining central and southern Goldfields, and eastern and southern South West
Land Division. Windy in the morning over southern parts, gusty about the
Darling Scarp.
Forecast for Wednesday 19 February
Showers and gusty thunderstorms over the Kimberley, central and eastern inland
Pilbara and north and east Interior. Chance of thunderstorms, with little or no
rainfall, over the far southwestern Gascoyne, and northern and western South
West Land Division. Showers possible over the southern Goldfields and southern
coastal districts. Windy in the morning over southern parts, gusty about the
Darling Scarp.
Forecast for Thursday 20 February
Showers and thunderstorms possible over the northern Kimberley, central inland
Pilbara, inland Gascoyne, South West Land Division and western Goldfields.
Windy over southern parts of the state in the morning
Forecast for Friday 21 February
Showers and thunderstorms possible over the north and west Kimberley, inland
western and central Pilbara, northeast Gascoyne, far southwest Interior,
Goldfields, eastern South East Coastal district and western Eucla. Showers
possible in the southwest of the South West Land Division. Milder over most
parts of the South West Land Division with moderate to fresh southwesterly
winds extending throughout.
The next routine forecast will be issued at 4:30 pm WST Tuesday.
