Weather Situation – Northern Western Australia
A broad low pressure trough over the central Pilbara extends to Severe Tropical
Cyclone Zelia offshore from the east Pilbara coast. Severe Tropical Cyclone
Zelia is forecast to move to the west during today. The system is then forecast
to move further south towards the Pilbara coast on Friday, while strengthening
further. It could potentially cross the coast during Friday over the east
Pilbara or far southwest Kimberley coasts.

Weather Situation – Southern and Central Western Australia
A ridge is strengthening over the southwest coast of the State and will extend
east and contract south of the state today and on Friday. A trough will form
near the west coast on the weekend.

Forecast for the rest of Thursday 13 February
Widespread rain areas and chance of thunderstorms over the east Pilbara and
North Interior. Very windy along the east Pilbara coast and possibly the far
southwest Kimberley coast with heavy falls possible. Showers and gusty
thunderstorms over the Kimberley, remaining Pilbara, far northeast Gascoyne and
central and north Interior. Light showers about southern coastal districts.

Forecast for Friday 14 February
Very windy conditions possible with rain and heavy falls over the east Pilbara
and possibly the far southwest Kimberley, depending on movement of Tropical
Cyclone Zelia. Showers and gusty thunderstorms over the Kimberley, remaining
Pilbara, far northern Gascoyne and central and north Interior. Possible showers
about coastal parts of the South East Coastal District and Eucla. Windy over
central parts of the state.

Forecast for Saturday 15 February
Very windy conditions possible with heavy falls over the east Pilbara, far
northeast Gascoyne and western Interior, depending on movement of Tropical
Cyclone Zelia. Showers and gusty thunderstorms over the Kimberley, remaining
Pilbara, northern Gascoyne and North Interior. Possible showers over the
remaining Gascoyne, Interior and far northern Goldfields.

Forecast for Sunday 16 February
Showers and gusty thunderstorms over the Kimberley, Pilbara and North Interior.
Showers over the Gascoyne, Goldfields and South Interior. Chance of showers
elsewhere around the State.
