Weather Situation – Northern Western Australia
A broad low pressure trough will remain over northern WA during the next few
days. A Tropical Low is forming near the north Kimberley coast and is forecast
to move southwest parallel to the west Kimberley coast and potentially develop
into a Tropical Cyclone early Tuesday. The system is then forecast to move
southwest towards the Pilbara coast.
Weather Situation – Southern and Central Western Australia
A trough extending from the inland Gascoyne, through the Goldfields and to the
south coast will continue to move east during today and Tuesday. A ridge will
strengthen into the western part of the State in the wake of the trough, before
slipping south on Wednesday. A cold front will brush the far southwest corner
of the State on Tuesday.
Forecast for the rest of Monday 10 February
Showers and gusty thunderstorms over the Kimberley, most likely widespread in
the north and west Kimberley, with moderate to heavy falls possible. Showers
and gusty thunderstorms over the east and central Pilbara, northern and western
Interior, northeastern Gascoyne and north and east Goldfields. Chance of
showers southwest of a line from Bunbury to Albany. Becoming windy about the
western coastal Kimberley. Very hot over the Pilbara, northeast Gascoyne, north
and east Goldfields, and Eucla. Milder over the eastern parts of the South West
Land Division.
Forecast for Tuesday 11 February
Showers and gusty thunderstorms over the Kimberley, east and central Pilbara,
northeast Gascoyne, Interior, north and east Goldfields and Eucla. Windy with
showers most likely widespread in the west Kimberley and possibly the east
Pilbara, with moderate to heavy falls possible. Possible showers southwest of a
line from Geraldton to Bremer Bay though more likely from Perth to Albany,
contracting to southern coastal districts in the afternoon. Very hot over the
west Pilbara, northeast Gascoyne, north and east Goldfields, South Interior and
Eucla.
Forecast for Wednesday 12 February
Showers and gusty thunderstorms over the Kimberley, east and central Pilbara,
far northeast Gascoyne and Interior. Windy with showers most likely widespread
in the southwest Kimberley and northeast Pilbara, with moderate to heavy falls
possible. Showers about southern districts of the South West Land Division.
Milder temperatures over the west Pilbara, northeast Gascoyne, north and east
Goldfields, South Interior and Eucla.
Forecast for Thursday 13 February
Showers and gusty thunderstorms over the Kimberley, east and central Pilbara,
far northeast Gascoyne and central and north Interior. Windy with showers most
likely widespread in the east Pilbara and possibly southwest Kimberley, with
moderate to heavy falls possible. Light showers about southern coastal
districts.
