Weather Situation – Northern Western Australia
A broad trough lies over the North Interior and extends west into the Pilbara.
Weather Situation – Southern and Central Western Australia
A trough over the South West Land Division will slowly move east Friday and
Saturday as a new high pressure ridge extends south of the state. A new broader
trough then forms just inland from the west coast later Saturday and Sunday,
and moves east on Monday as another stronger ridge develops from the west.
Forecast for the rest of Friday 31 January
Showers and gusty thunderstorms over the Kimberley, northern North Interior,
northern and western Pilbara, and northwest Gascoyne. Chance of a thunderstorm
over the southwest Gascoyne, and inland northern and eastern parts of the South
West Land Division. Very hot over most parts of the State apart from the far
southeast. Windy over eastern parts of the South West Land Division in the
morning.
Forecast for Saturday 1 February
Showers and gusty thunderstorms possible over the Kimberley, northern North
Interior, most parts of the Pilbara and far northern Gascoyne.
Very hot over most parts of State with a cooler change around the southwest and
south coasts.
Forecast for Sunday 2 February
Showers and gusty thunderstorms possible over the Kimberley, northern North
Interior, and Pilbara. Very hot over most of the State apart from the southwest
and south coasts.
Forecast for Monday 3 February
Showers and gusty thunderstorms possible over the Kimberley, northwestern North
Interior, Pilbara and far northern Gascoyne. Possible light shower over
southern districts of the South West Land Division. Very hot over most of the
State apart from the west coastal fringe and southern districts of the South
West Land Division.
The next routine forecast will be issued at 4:30 pm WST Friday.
