Weather Situation – Northern Western Australia
A broad trough lies over the North Interior and extends along the Pilbara coast.
Weather Situation – Southern and Central Western Australia
A ridge lies south of the state while a trough extends down the west coast. A
high will form in the Bight today with the trough moving inland. A new broader
trough forms just inland from the west coast later Saturday and Sunday.
Forecast for the rest of Thursday 30 January
Showers and gusty thunderstorms likely over the Kimberley, and possible over
the northwest Interior and Pilbara. Chance of a thunderstorm over the Central
West, northern Lower West and Central Wheat Belt, mainly in the afternoon and
evening. Very hot over the southern Kimberley, northern Interior, Pilbara and
Gascoyne, and over inland parts of the South West Land Division. Windy over
central and southeastern parts of the State.
Forecast for Friday 31 January
Showers and gusty thunderstorms likely over the Kimberley and Pilbara, and
possible over the northern North Interior and northwest Gascoyne. Chance of a
thunderstorm over inland parts of the South West Land Division. Very hot over
most parts of the State.
Forecast for Saturday 1 February
Showers and gusty thunderstorms possible over the Kimberley, Pilbara and far
northern Gascoyne. Very hot over much of the State with a cooler change around
the southwest and south coasts. Possible light showers along the south coast
west of Israelite Bay.
Forecast for Sunday 2 February
Showers and thunderstorms possible over the Kimberley, Pilbara, North Interior
and far northern Gascoyne. Very hot over much of the State besides the
southwest and south coasts. Possible of light showers between Esperance and
Israelite Bay.
The next routine forecast will be issued at 4:30 pm WST Thursday.
