Weather Situation – Northern Western Australia
A broad low pressure trough lies over northern parts of the state.
Weather Situation – Southern and Central Western Australia
A weak high pressure ridge lies south of the state while a trough lies over the
eastern Goldfields. The trough will move east into the South Interior on
Saturday ahead of weak cold fronts brushing the western south coast Friday and
Sunday nights. A further cold front later Monday and into Tuesday may extend
into southern parts of the South West Land Division.
Forecast for the rest of Saturday 11 January
Showers and gusty thunderstorms over the Kimberley, most parts of the Pilbara
apart from the far west, far northeastern Gascoyne, Interior and far eastern
Goldfields. Possible light showers over southern coastal districts of the South
West Land Division, far northeast Central Wheat Belt, southeast Gascoyne and
central parts of the Goldfields, mostly morning. Very hot over the far west
Pilbara and northwest Gascoyne.
Forecast for Sunday 12 January
Showers and gusty thunderstorms over the Kimberley, most parts of the Pilbara
apart from the far west, far northeastern Gascoyne, Interior and north and
eastern Goldfields. Possible light shower developing about the far western
south coast late afternoon or evening. Very hot over the far west Pilbara and
northwest Gascoyne.
Forecast for Monday 13 January
Showers and gusty thunderstorms over the Kimberley, most parts of the Pilbara
apart from the far west, far northeastern Gascoyne, Interior and north and
eastern Goldfields. Possible light showers over southwest parts of the South
West Land Division. Very hot over the far west Pilbara, Gascoyne, Goldfields
and South Interior.
Forecast for Tuesday 14 January
Showers and gusty thunderstorms over the Kimberley, most parts of the Pilbara
apart from the far west, far northeastern Gascoyne, Interior, far eastern
Goldfields and Eucla. Possible light showers over most of the South West Land
Division and remaining Goldfields.
The next routine forecast will be issued at 4:30 pm WST Saturday.
