Weather Situation – Northern Western Australia
A broad low pressure trough lies over northern parts of the state.
Weather Situation – Southern and Central Western Australia
A high pressure system in the Bight is moving eastwards. A trough near the west
coast moves inland today and into the Goldfields by Wednesday. Another trough
may develop over inland parts of the South West Land Division later Wednesday.
Forecast for the rest of Tuesday 7 January
Showers and gusty thunderstorms over the Kimberley, central and eastern
Pilbara, eastern Gascoyne, Goldfields, Interior and South West Land Division,
apart from the Central West District and west coast. Very hot over the inland
northern parts of the South West Land Division and Goldfields. Windy over
southern and central parts, mostly in the morning.
Forecast for Wednesday 8 January
Showers and gusty thunderstorms over the Kimberley, central and eastern
Pilbara, far northeastern Gascoyne, southern and eastern Goldfields, Interior,
Eucla and eastern South West Land Division. Very hot over the north and eastern
Goldfields and inland Eucla.
Forecast for Thursday 9 January
Showers and gusty thunderstorms over the Kimberley, central and eastern
Pilbara, far northeastern Gascoyne and Interior. Possible light showers near
the coast east of Esperance in the morning.
Forecast for Friday 10 January
Showers and gusty thunderstorms over the Kimberley, central and eastern
Pilbara, northeastern Gascoyne, Interior, northern and eastern Goldfields,
Eucla and far eastern South West Land Division. Possible light showers
developing along the south coast west of Albany during the evening.
The next routine forecast will be issued at 4:30 pm WST Tuesday.
