Weather Situation – Northern Western Australia
A broad low pressure trough lies over northern parts of the state.
Weather Situation – Southern and Central Western Australia
A high pressure system to the west of the state extends a ridge over the south
of the state. This high pressure centre will move into the Bight during today
and tomorrow with a trough deepening down the west coast. The trough will move
inland from the west coast on Tuesday.
Forecast for the rest of Sunday 5 January
Showers and gusty thunderstorms over most parts of the Kimberley, central and
eastern Pilbara, east Gascoyne, Goldfields, Interior, Eucla, and eastern
Central Wheat Belt and north South East Coastal districts. Possible heavy falls
with storms over the southern Goldfields and adjacent western Eucla. Mild over
southern parts of the state. Windy at times over southern and central parts.
Forecast for Monday 6 January
Showers and gusty thunderstorms over the Kimberley, central and eastern
Pilbara, eastern and southern Gascoyne, north and east Goldfields, Interior and
northern parts of the South West Land Division. Very hot over northern parts of
the South West Land Division. Windy over southern and central parts.
Forecast for Tuesday 7 January
Showers and gusty thunderstorms over the Kimberley, central and eastern
Pilbara, eastern Gascoyne, Goldfields, Interior and South West Land Division,
apart from the Central West District. Very hot over the inland northern parts
of the South West Land Division and Goldfields. Windy over southern and central
parts, mostly in the morning.
Forecast for Wednesday 8 January
Showers and gusty thunderstorms over the Kimberley, central and eastern
Pilbara, far northeastern Gascoyne, southern Goldfields, Interior, Eucla and
eastern South West Land Division. Very hot over the north and eastern
Goldfields and Eucla.
The next routine forecast will be issued at 4:30 pm WST Sunday.
