Weather Situation – Northern Western Australia
A broad low pressure trough lies over northern parts of the state.

Weather Situation – Southern and Central Western Australia
A deep trough near the west coast will move across the South West Land Division
on Thursday, before moving to the Goldfields on Friday. A new ridge of high
pressure develops over southwest WA on Friday, as a weak cold front brushes
past the south coast, with the ridge extending along the south coast on
Saturday.

Forecast for the rest of Thursday 2 January
Showers and gusty thunderstorms over the north and west Kimberley, Pilbara,
western Interior, Gascoyne, Goldfields, and northern and eastern South West
Land Division. Hot to very hot across much of the state away from the west
coastal fringe. Windy in the morning over southern and eastern parts.

Forecast for Friday 3 January
Showers and gusty thunderstorms over the north and west Kimberley, Pilbara,
inland Gascoyne, Goldfields, eastern parts of the South East Coastal district,
and Eucla. Showers over southern districts. Milder temperatures over southern
and southwest parts of the South West Land Division, remaining hot to very hot
elsewhere. Windy in the morning over eastern parts.

Forecast for Saturday 4 January
Showers and gusty thunderstorms over the north and west Kimberley, central
Pilbara, eastern Gascoyne, southern Interior, Goldfields, and Eucla. Showers
over southern districts east of Windy Harbour. Mild over southern parts of the
State, hot to very hot elsewhere. Becoming windy later in the day across Eucla,
Goldfields and South Interior.

Forecast for Sunday 5 January
Showers and gusty thunderstorms over the Kimberley, central and eastern
Pilbara, far east Gascoyne, western and southern Interior, Goldfields, and
Eucla. Showers over southern districts east of Albany. Hot to very hot across
central and northern parts of the state. Windy at times over southern and
central parts.
