Weather Situation – Northern Western Australia
A broad low pressure trough lies over northern parts of the state.

Weather Situation – Southern and Central Western Australia
A high pressure ridge is located south of the state with a trough deepening
down the west coast. The trough will move inland on Thursday and Friday as
another high pressure ridge pushes east along the south coast.

Forecast for the rest of Wednesday 1 January
Showers and gusty thunderstorms over the Kimberley, Pilbara, northern and
central Interior, Gascoyne, northern Goldfields and inland parts of the South
West Land Division. Hot to very hot across much of the state away from the
south coastal fringe. Windy in the morning over central and southern parts, and
about the Darling Scarp. Becoming windy later over southeastern parts.

Forecast for Thursday 2 January
Showers and gusty thunderstorms over the Kimberley, Pilbara, north and west
Interior, inland Gascoyne, north and west Goldfields, and inland South West
Land Division. Hot to very hot across much of the state away from the west
coastal fringe. Windy in the morning over central southern and eastern parts.

Forecast for Friday 3 January
Showers and gusty thunderstorms over the north and west Kimberley, Pilbara,
inland Gascoyne, Goldfields, eastern parts of the South East Coastal district,
and Eucla. Possible showers over southern districts. Milder temperatures over
southern and southwest parts of the South West Land Division. Windy in the
morning over eastern parts.

Forecast for Saturday 4 January
Showers and gusty thunderstorms over the northern parts of the Kimberley,
central Pilbara, inland Gascoyne, Goldfields, eastern parts of the South East
Coastal district, and Eucla. Possible showers over southern districts east of
Windy Harbour. Milder temperatures over southern parts of the State.

The next routine forecast will be issued at 4:30 pm WST Wednesday.
