Weather Situation – Northern Western Australia
A trough stretches lies inland of the coast, while a dry and fresh easterly
flow extends across inland areas. The weakening easterly flow will allow the
trough to move further inland through today.

Weather Situation – Southern and Central Western Australia
A weakening ridge is located in the Bight, while trough stretches from the
interior to a cold front over the southern districts. Another cold front will
brush past the south coast on Wednesday, followed by a strengthening ridge from
the Indian Ocean. The new ridge will extend over southern WA on Thursday.

Forecast for the rest of Tuesday 24 December
Showers and gusty thunderstorms over the Kimberley, adjacent northeast Pilbara,
and northern parts of North Interior. Chance of an afternoon and evening gusty
thunderstorm with little to no rainfall over the eastern Central West, central
and southern Gascoyne, Central Wheat Belt, southwest Goldfields, Great
Southern, South East Coastal and eastern parts of South Coastal district.
Showers over far southern parts of the South West Land Division. Becoming
cooler across the southwest of the State, remaining very hot elsewhere.

Forecast for Wednesday 25 December
Showers and gusty thunderstorms over the Kimberley, northern and eastern
Pilbara, and northern and central parts of the Interior. Showers over southern
parts of the South West Land Division, Eucla and Goldfields. Chance of a
thunderstorm over the northern and eastern Goldfields and eastern parts of
South East Coastal. Cooler over the South West Land Division, southern
Goldfields and southern Gascoyne, remaining hot to very hot elsewhere.

Forecast for Thursday 26 December
Showers and gusty thunderstorms over the Kimberley, northeast Pilbara, and
northern and eastern parts of the Interior. Showers over far southern parts of
the South West Land Division, Eucla and southeast South Interior. Cool over
southern WA, hot to very hot elsewhere.

Forecast for Friday 27 December
Showers and gusty thunderstorms over the Kimberley, central and eastern
Pilbara, and northern Interior. Possible showers over far southern parts of the
South West Land Division, and Eucla coast.

The next routine forecast will be issued at 4:30 pm WST Tuesday.
