Weather Situation – Northern Western Australia
A trough extends from the inland Kimberley to near the Pilbara coast.
Weather Situation – Southern and Central Western Australia
A ridge is strengthening south of the State with a trough forming near the west
coast from today and over the weekend. The trough will begin to move inland
during Monday.
Forecast for the rest of Friday 20 December
Showers and gusty thunderstorms over the northern and western Kimberley,
Pilbara and northwest Gascoyne. Light showers possible about the Eucla coast.
Windy over central and southeastern parts of the State. Very hot over the
inland Central West, northern parts of the Central Wheat Belt, northern
Goldfields, Gascoyne, Pilbara, Kimberley and northern Interior.
Forecast for Saturday 21 December
Showers and gusty thunderstorms over the northern Kimberley. Chance of an
afternoon thunderstorm with little to no rainfall over the western Pilbara,
west and southern Gascoyne, inland Central West, northern parts of the Central
Wheat Belt and adjacent west Goldfields. Windy over the Pilbara, Gascoyne,
Interior and Eucla. Very hot over the inland Central West, Central Wheat Belt,
northern Lower West, northern Goldfields, Gascoyne, Pilbara, Kimberley and
northern Interior.
Forecast for Sunday 22 December
Showers and gusty thunderstorms over the northern and eastern Kimberley. Very
hot over the Central West, Central Wheat Belt, Lower West, northern Goldfields,
Gascoyne, Pilbara, Kimberley and northern Interior.
Forecast for Monday 23 December
Showers and gusty thunderstorms over the Kimberley. Chance of an afternoon
thunderstorm with little to no rainfall over the inland Central West, northeast
Lower West and far northwest Great Southern districts. Very hot over most parts
of the South West Land Division, northern Goldfields, Gascoyne, Pilbara,
Kimberley and northern Interior.
The next routine forecast will be issued at 4:30 pm WST Friday.
