Weather Situation – Northern Western Australia
A trough extends from the Kimberley to near the Pilbara coast with a
strengthening ridge to the south bringing gusty east to southeasterly winds
inland of the trough. The trough will deepen over the west Pilbara on today and
move east on Friday allowing a new ridge to the west to move in over the
weekend.

Weather Situation – Southern and Central Western Australia
A high pressure ridge is continuing to strengthen near the south coast with a
high pressure centre moving through the Bight today. A deepening trough will
develop near the west coast land move inland today, reaching the Goldfields on
Friday. A new ridge will near the south coast on Saturday.

Forecast for the rest of Thursday 24 October
Showers and thunderstorms possible over the far north coast in the Kimberley,
west Interior, eastern Gascoyne and inland southeast Pilbara. Windy at times
over central and north parts of the State outside the Kimberley. Hot to very
hot over most parts of the state.

Forecast for Friday 25 October
Showers and thunderstorms possible over the Kimberley, northern North Interior,
Goldfields, western Eucla and far eastern parts of the South West Land
Division. Light showers developing over the South West and South Coastal
districts. Windy at times over most parts of the state. Hot to very hot over
most parts of the state.

Forecast for Saturday 26 October
Showers and thunderstorms possible over the northwest Kimberley, Eucla,
southeast Goldfields and southern Interior. Morning light showers over the
South Coastal districts. Hot to very hot over the north of the state. Windy
over the southeast of the State.

Forecast for Sunday 27 October
Showers and thunderstorms possible over most of the Kimberley and northern
parts of the Interior. Hot to very hot over the north of the state. Windy over
the central and northern parts of the State, apart from the Kimberley.

The next routine forecast will be issued at 4:30 pm WST Thursday.
