Weather Situation – Northern Western Australia
A weak trough extends from the Kimberley into the east Pilbara as a
strengthening ridge to the south brings southerly winds to the western Pilbara.
The ridge will move south during the week, allowing the trough to build back to
the Pilbara coast.

Weather Situation – Southern and Central Western Australia
A cold front is moving east along the south coast and will exit the state this
afternoon. A new ridge will develop over southern WA today in the wake of the
cold front. A weak front will brush past the southwest coast on Tuesday before
the ridge then strengthens on Wednesday and a high pressure centre moves into
the Bight. A trough will develop near the west coast later Wednesday, deepening
on Thursday.

Forecast for the rest of Monday 21 October
Light showers over western and southern districts of the South West Land
Division, contracting coastal parts of the South West district during the
morning. Chance of an afternoon shower or thunderstorm over most parts of the
Kimberley, North Interior and northeastern parts of South Interior. Chance of
morning fog over western parts of the Great Southern, southwest Central
Wheatbelt, and adjacent Lower West and South West districts. Very hot in the
west Kimberley, eastern Pilbara and eastern Interior, cooler change through the
eastern parts of the South West Land Division, Goldfields and Eucla. Windy at
times over central and eastern parts of the state.

Forecast for Tuesday 22 October
Showers southwest of a line Lancelin to Albany, contracting to the south coast
and clearing during the afternoon. Chance of a shower or thunderstorm over the
Interior, and far eastern parts of the Goldfields. Chance of an afternoon
shower or thunderstorm along the northern Kimberley. Windy at times over
central and northwestern parts of the State. Very hot through the Kimberley,
east Pilbara and North Interior.

Forecast for Wednesday 23 October
Chance of a shower or thunderstorm over the central and west Interior, far
northeast Gascoyne and southeast Pilbara. Chance of an afternoon shower or
thunderstorm close to the Kimberley north coast. Windy at times over central
and northwestern parts of the State. Becoming warmer through the west Pilbara,
Gascoyne, and far northern parts of the south West Land Division.

Forecast for Thursday 24 October
Chance of a shower or thunderstorm over the far north coast in the Kimberley,
west Interior, inland Gascoyne and inland Pilbara.Windy at times over most
parts of the state. Very hot through the Kimberley, hot over the west Pilbara,
west Gascoyne, northern Goldfields and northern and east South West Land
Division.

The next routine forecast will be issued at 4:30 pm WST Monday.
