Weather Situation – Northern Western Australia
A weak trough extends from the Kimberley to the northern Interior, whilst a
high pressure ridge to the south brings south to southwesterly winds to the
western Pilbara. The high pressure ridge will move south on Friday with the
south to southwesterly winds easing and the trough extending back into the
Pilbara from the Kimberley.

Weather Situation – Southern and Central Western Australia
A complex low pressure trough will continue to move east, contracting into
South Australia this morning. A new ridge will extend over southern WA in the
wake of the trough during today and Friday. Another weak cold front will brush
the southwest coast on Sunday.

Forecast for the rest of Thursday 17 October
Showers over the South West Land Division, Goldfields, southern Gascoyne,
Eucla, southern and eastern Interior, contracting to southern coastal districts
of the South West Land Division, southern and eastern parts of the Goldfields,
and Eucla by the afternoon. Chance of a gusty thunderstorm over southern
Goldfields, South East Coastal and Eucla. Chance of an afternoon shower or
thunderstorm over the northern and eastern Kimberley. Windy over the Eucla and
Southern Interior.

Forecast for Friday 18 October
Light showers southwest of a line from Fremantle to Katanning to Albany. Chance
of an afternoon shower or thunderstorm over the northern and eastern Kimberley.

Forecast for Saturday 19 October
Light showers south of a line from Perth to Katanning to Albany. Chance of an
afternoon shower or thunderstorm over the northern and eastern Kimberley. Very
hot in the west Kimberley.

Forecast for Sunday 20 October
Showers southwest of a line Kalbarri to Lake Grace to Israelite Bay. Chance of
an afternoon shower or thunderstorm over the northern and eastern Kimberley.
Very hot in the west Kimberley.
