Weather Situation – Northern Western Australia
A weak trough extends from the Kimberley to the northern Interior whilst a high
pressure ridge pushes across the Gascoyne coast bringing southerly winds to the
western Pilbara.
Weather Situation – Southern and Central Western Australia
A slow moving trough over the Goldfields will continue to move east today ahead
of a weak cold front in the southwest. Meanwhile, a ridge over the central west
coast will slowly move southeast over the next few days to be located near the
south coast on Tuesday before moving east as well, ahead of a more substantial
cold front on Wednesday.
Forecast for the rest of Monday 14 October
Showers developing south of a line Dongara to Esperance, extending north to
Kalbarri in the evening. Chance of showers and thunderstorms over the south
coastal districts east of Albany. Chance of an afternoon shower or thunderstorm
over the northern Kimberley. Chance of morning fog over the inland southern and
central parts of the South West Land Division. Very hot through the southern
Kimberley, very warm over eastern parts of the South West Land Division.
Forecast for Tuesday 15 October
Light showers over the western and southern parts of the South West Land
Division, clearing by afternoon. Chance of an afternoon shower or thunderstorm
over the northern Kimberley. Very hot through the southern Kimberley.
Forecast for Wednesday 16 October
Showers over the South West Land Division, southern and western Gascoyne,
Goldfields, southern Interior, and Eucla. Chance of a thunderstorm over the
southern Goldfields, South East Coastal, eastern parts of Central Wheat Belt,
eastern parts of Great Southern, western Eucla, and Lower West. Chance of an
afternoon shower or thunderstorm over the northern Kimberley. Very hot through
the southern Kimberley.
Forecast for Thursday 17 October
Showers over the South West Land Division, Goldfields, southern Gascoyne,
southern Interior and Eucla. Chance of a thunderstorm over the southern
Goldfields, South East Coastal and Eucla. Chance of an afternoon shower or
thunderstorm over the eastern Kimberley.
The next routine forecast will be issued at 4:30 pm WST Monday.
