Weather Situation – Northern Western Australia
A trough extends from inland Kimberley to the northern Interior, while a firm
high pressure ridge is producing fresh southeasterly winds across the western
Pilbara this morning. A new trough will develop about the west Pilbara coast
today. Meanwhile, a cloud band over the Pilbara will slowly contract east over
the next couple of days.
Weather Situation – Southern and Central Western Australia
A ridge will extend along the south coast while a cloud band extending from the
Pilbara, and across eastern Gascoyne to the Interior brings unseasonal rain.
Another trough will develop near the west coast today and move inland on
Saturday ahead of the next weak cold front about the southwest coast.
Forecast for the rest of Thursday 10 October
Showers and possible thunderstorms over the Kimberley, Pilbara, Gascoyne,
northern Goldfields, and Interior. Possible afternoon shower or thunderstorm
over central and northern parts of the Central West. Chance of frost through
inland parts of the South East Coastal district and adjacent Goldfields this
morning. Very hot over inland Kimberley, becoming warmer down the west coast.
Much cooler through the Goldfields. Windy at times during the day south of
northern Kimberley. Smoke haze over the Lower West and South West districts.
Forecast for Friday 11 October
Showers and possible thunderstorms in western and northern Kimberley, eastern
Pilbara, western and southern Interior, Eucla, eastern Goldfields and northeast
Gascoyne. Slight chance of an afternoon and evening shower or thunderstorm
southwest of a line Mandurah to Bremer Bay. Very hot through inland and
northern Kimberley and very warm over the South West Land Division. Much cooler
through the eastern Goldfields, Eucla and far southern Interior. Windy at times
during the day over southern and central parts of the state.
Forecast for Saturday 12 October
Showers and chance of a thunderstorm over southern and central parts of the
South West Land Division, southern Goldfields, Eucla, South Interior, northern
and western Kimberley. Very hot through the Kimberley and very warm over inland
the South West Land Division. Windy in the morning through eastern Interior.
Forecast for Sunday 13 October
Light showers or drizzle over southern coastal districts. Showers and chance of
a thunderstorm over southern Goldfields, Eucla, eastern Interior, northern and
western Kimberley. Chance of morning fog over inland southern parts of the
South West Land Division. Very hot through the southern Kimberley, very warm
over inland northern parts of the South West Land Division.
