Weather Situation – Northern Western Australia
A strong high pressure system moving away over eastern states continues to
direct fresh and gusty east to northeast winds across much of the region. Winds
will begin to ease from Wednesday as the high pressure system continues to move
away and a broad trough becomes established over the Kimberley and Pilbara
regions.
Weather Situation – Southern and Central Western Australia
A weak cold front is forecast to brush along the south coast overnight Tuesday
and Wednesday. A high pressure ridge will rapidly develop along the south coast
on Thursday and Friday in the wake of the cold front.
Forecast for the rest of Tuesday 17 September
Possible showers over the central and northeast Kimberley. Mostly clear over
the remainder of the state.
Forecast for Wednesday 18 September
Light showers south of a line Harvey to Israelite Bay. Mostly sunny over the
remainder of the state. Possible morning fog over the South West, South Coastal
and adjacent Great Southern districts. Windy in the morning over the central
and east Pilbara, and Kimberley. Cooler about the western south coast and
adjacent inland parts.
Forecast for Thursday 19 September
Light showers along the south coast, reaching inland central and eastern parts
of the South East Coastal district, adjacent southern Goldfields and western
Eucla for a period in the early morning. Chance of a shower about the far north
Kimberley. Cooler over southern districts.
Forecast for Friday 20 September
Light showers south of a line Busselton to Bremer Bay and east along the south
coast to Israelite Bay. Possible showers or thunderstorms over the north
Kimberley. Possible morning frosts over the central and eastern Great Southern
district, adjacent South East Coastal district and far southwest Goldfields.
Forecast for Saturday 21 September
Light showers over the south coastal districts. Possible showers or
thunderstorms over the Kimberley. Showers also extending over the eastern and
central Pilbara, northeast Gascoyne, and Interior.
The next routine forecast will be issued at 4:45 am WST Wednesday.
