Weather Situation – Northern Western Australia
A ridge is weakening over eastern Kimberley with a stagnant trough expected
over inland areas. Another high will quickly pass through central parts of the
State today, followed by a trough developing across the Pilbara. A new ridge
through southern Pilbara towards the end of the week will push this trough
northwards to the Kimberley.
Weather Situation – Southern and Central Western Australia
A high moves east through central parts of the state today, as a strong cold
front approaches from the west. The cold front will cross the lower west coast
this evening and contract eastward on Thursday. A new ridge will strengthen
over central and southern parts of the State Thursday evening and Friday.
Forecast for the rest of Wednesday 28 August
Light showers over northern parts of Central West and South West districts.
Showers developing southwest of a line from Kalbarri to Bremer Bay in the
evening. Becoming windy about the lower west coast during the afternoon,
spreading to the South West district in the evening. Unseasonably hot through
the north of the State and into the central Interior. Cooler over the Eucla.
Morning fog over northern parts of the South West Land Division, southern
Gascoyne and adjacent Goldfields.
Forecast for Thursday 29 August
Showers southwest of a line from Shark Bay to Eyre, more widespread about the
Lower West, South West and western parts of the South Coastal and western parts
of the Great Southern. Windy over southern WA. Unseasonably hot through
northern WA and extending down through the eastern Goldfields, Interior and
Eucla. Surf conditions will be hazardous for coastal activities between Cape
Naturaliste to Israelite Bay.
Forecast for Friday 30 August
Showers south and west of a line from Denham to Kalgoorlie to Eucla, most
likely about the Lower West, South West and coastal parts of the South Coastal
and South East Coastal districts. Cooler through the Eucla, eastern Goldfields
and South Interior but remaining unseasonably hot in the eastern Pilbara, North
Interior and Kimberley. Windy over southern coastal districts, southern
Goldfields and southern Interior. Surf conditions will be hazardous for coastal
activities between Cape Naturaliste to Israelite Bay.
Forecast for Saturday 31 August
Light showers southwest of a line Denham to Israelite Bay. Unseasonably hot in
the North Interior and adjacent southeast Kimberley.
The next routine forecast will be issued at 4:30 pm WST Wednesday.
