Weather Situation – Northern Western Australia
A high pressure ridge will develop over the northern Gascoyne and adjacent
Pilbara this weekend. Light winds and sunny days will cause unseasonally warm
temperatures over the Kimberley this weekend and next week.

Weather Situation – Southern and Central Western Australia
A strong cold front embedded in a vigorous westerly flow will move swiftly
across the southern parts of the state today. A ridge of high pressure will
follow across the central parts of the state on Sunday and Monday. A cold front
will move through the southern districts on Monday night into Tuesday.

Forecast for the rest of Saturday 24 August
Windy with showers over the South West Land Division, southern and western
Gascoyne, southern Goldfields, southern Interior and Eucla, more frequent about
the Lower West and South West districts. Gusty thunderstorms over southern and
central parts of the South West Land Division. Damaging wind gusts possible
south of a line Dongara to Southern Cross. Isolated heavy falls possible along
the Darling Scarp and in the South West district. Surf conditions will be
hazardous for coastal activities between Kalbarri and Bremer Bay.

Forecast for Sunday 25 August
Light showers south of a line Dongara to Bremer Bay and along the south coast
to Esperance. Windy in the morning over Eucla, southeast Goldfields, Pilbara
and North Interior. Surf conditions will be hazardous for coastal activities
between Jurien Bay and Bremer Bay.

Forecast for Monday 26 August
Showers southwest of a line from Jurien Bay to Bremer Bay, more frequent over
the South West district. Windy over southern parts of the South West Land
Division. Very hot over the northwest Kimberley. Surf conditions will be
hazardous for coastal activities between Cape Leeuwin and Albany.

Forecast for Tuesday 27 August
Showers south of a line from Shark Bay to Eucla. Windy over southern parts of
the states. Very hot over the western Kimberley.

The next routine forecast will be issued at 4:30 pm WST Saturday.
