Weather Situation – Northern Western Australia
A weak trough lies over the Kimberley and Pilbara. A cold front will move over
the west coast during Thursday, reaching the western Pilbara and adjacent
offshore waters later Thursday and Friday morning. A high pressure ridge will
then develop over the northern Gascoyne and adjacent Pilbara over the weekend.

Weather Situation – Southern and Central Western Australia
A fast moving high pressure system will shift east throughout the day making
way to a cold front and low pressure system that will move across the west
coast later this evening and into Thursday. Another cold front on Saturday,
maintaining a westerly flow across southwest WA this week.

Forecast for the rest of Wednesday 21 August
Light showers over the South West Land Division, adjacent southern Gascoyne,
southern Goldfields and Eucla. Morning fog possible over inland parts of the
South West Land Division, and adjacent Gascoyne.

Forecast for Thursday 22 August
Showers over the South West Land Division, southern and western Gascoyne,
southern Goldfields, and Eucla. Showers more frequent about the Lower West and
South West districts. Chance of a gusty thunderstorm about coastal parts
between Perth and Windy Harbour. Morning fog possible over southern parts of
the South West Land Division, southern Goldfields and southern Eucla. Windy at
times during the day over central and southern parts of the state.

Forecast for Friday 23 August
Showers over the South West Land Division, Gascoyne, far west Pilbara,
Goldfields, and Eucla. Chance of a gusty thunderstorm about the coast between
Perth and Albany. Windy over southern parts of the state.

Forecast for Saturday 24 August
Windy with showers over the South West Land Division, southwest Gascoyne,
Goldfields, southwest Interior and Eucla. Gusty thunderstorms over southern and
central parts of the South West Land Division. Surf conditions will be
hazardous for coastal activities for parts of the west coast.

The next routine forecast will be issued at 4:30 pm WST Wednesday.
