Weather Situation – Northern Western Australia
A weak trough lies over the Kimberley and extends west along the Pilbara coast.

Weather Situation – Southern and Central Western Australia
A cold front will continue to move away into South Australia this morning,
followed by a high pressure system passing through central parts of the State
during the day. The high will contract east on Friday night ahead of a new
series of cold fronts moving over western and southern parts later Friday and
Saturday. A low pressure system will form south of the State in the wake of the
cold fronts overnight Saturday and Sunday, maintaining a vigorous showery
westerly airstream.

Forecast for the rest of Thursday 15 August
Light showers south of a line from Denham to Leinster to Forrest, contracting
to the southern coastal parts in the afternoon. The chance of a thunderstorm
along the Esperance coast. Small hail possible south of Augusta to Bremer Bay
in the early morning. Windy about the South and South East Coastal districts,
Eucla, southeast Goldfields and southern parts of the Interior. Areas of early
fog over inland western Gascoyne. Surf conditions will be hazardous for coastal
activities from the Leeuwin to Esperance coasts, tides are also higher than
normal for the Albany and Esperance coasts.

Forecast for Friday 16 August
Light showers along the south coast east of Esperance clearing during the
morning. Showers about west coastal parts south of Perth, increasing and
extending west of a line Jurien Bay to Albany gradually during the afternoon
and evening. Possible thunderstorm about the South West Capes later in the day.
Windy about the southwest coast. Chance of early fog over inland Central West,
adjacent southwest Gascoyne, northeast Lower West, western parts of Central
Wheat Belt and northwest Great Southern districts. Possible morning frosts over
the inland South East Coastal district, far east Great Southern and southern
Goldfields.

Forecast for Saturday 17 August
Showers south of a line Exmouth to Eucla. Possible thunderstorms over western
and central parts of the South West Land Division. Windy over southern and
central WA. Chance of early fog over northwest Gascoyne and Cape Range.

Forecast for Sunday 18 August
Showers south of a line Denham to Eucla. Light morning showers along the
northwest coast between Denham and Exmouth. Possible thunderstorms about
coastal parts between Lancelin to Esperance. Windy over southern districts.
