Weather Situation – Northern Western Australia
A high pressure system over central WA will weaken as an active pattern of cold
fronts moves across southern WA today. Another high pressure system will build
through central WA on Thursday, before contracting east ahead of a series of
stronger cold fronts moving through the south on Friday night and over the
weekend. A weak trough will remain near coastal parts of the Kimberley and east
Pilbara.

Weather Situation – Southern and Central Western Australia
A series of cold fronts will move over southern WA today, followed by a high
pressure system passing through central parts of the State on Thursday. The
high will contract east on Friday night ahead of second series of stronger cold
fronts move through the south on Friday night and over the weekend.

Forecast for the rest of Wednesday 14 August
Showers south of a line from Carnarvon to Leonora to Warburton, more widespread
about the Lower West and southern coastal districts. Chance of a gusty
thunderstorm over the southern coastal districts, southeast Goldfields and far
southern parts of the Interior. Windy about the southwest coast and south
coast. Small hail possible south of Bunbury to Hopetoun. Areas of early fog
over the western Gascoyne, adjacent Central West and the far southwest
Kimberley. Surf conditions will be hazardous for coastal activities on the
Leeuwin and Albany coasts

Forecast for Thursday 15 August
Light showers over the South West Land Division, Goldfields, Eucla and southern
Gascoyne, contracting to the southern coastal districts in the afternoon.
Chance of a thunderstorm near the coast of the South East Coastal District.
Small hail possible south of Mount Barker to Hopetoun, most likely in the
morning. Windy about the south coast, South East Coastal, Eucla, southeast
Goldfields and southern parts of the Interior. Areas of early fog over inland
western Gascoyne. Surf conditions will be hazardous for coastal activities for
the Leeuwin and Albany coasts, tides higher than normal for the Esperance coast.

Forecast for Friday 16 August
Chance of early fog over inland Central West, adjacent southwest Gascoyne,
northeast Lower West and western parts of Central Wheat Belt. Light showers
about the west coast and south coast, clearing about the south coast during the
day. Showers increasing over the western districts and extending west of a line
Shark Bay to Bremer in the evening. Windy about the southwest coast.

Forecast for Saturday 17 August
Showers south of a line Exmouth to Eucla. Chance of a thunderstorm about the
west coast. Windy over southern and central WA. Chance of early fog over
northwest Gascoyne and Cape Range.
