Weather Situation – Northern Western Australia
A weak trough over the Kimberley and Pilbara will get pushed west, as a ridge
of high pressure over central WA moves east and directs easterly winds across
the northern districts over the weekend.

Weather Situation – Southern and Central Western Australia
A ridge of high pressure extends across central and southeastern parts of the
state. The ridge will contract east as a cold front approaches the Southwest
Capes on Saturday evening. The front will move east across the South West Land
Division on Sunday before weakening inland. A series of weaker fronts will move
across southwest WA next week.

Forecast for the rest of Friday 9 August
Chance of light showers southwest of Lancelin to Bremer Bay. Possible morning
fog over inland parts of the South West Land Division and adjacent southwest
Gascoyne.

Forecast for Saturday 10 August
Light showers southwest of a line Harvey to Walpole, spreading to southwest of
Lancelin to Bremer Bay in the late evening. Showers becoming more frequent with
the chance of a gusty thunderstorm about the Southwest Capes in the evening.

Forecast for Sunday 11 August
Showers southwest of a line Coral Bay to Eyre, more frequent across the western
districts. Gusty thunderstorms possible southwest of Gingin to Albany and along
the south coast to Bremer Bay. Possible morning fog over the western Gascoyne.

Forecast for Monday 12 August
Showers over the South West Land Division, Goldfields, Eucla, far southern
Interior, most parts of the Gascoyne and about Cape Range. Chance of a gusty
thunderstorm about the southwest coast.

The next routine forecast will be issued at 4:30 pm WST Friday.
