Weather Situation – Northern Western Australia
A ridge of high pressure lies over central WA. Easterly winds will strengthen
over northern WA as the ridge moves east on the weekend. A broad trough lies
near the west Kimberley and Pilbara coasts.
Weather Situation – Southern and Central Western Australia
A cold front is moving over southeastern parts of the State. A ridge developing
over central WA will extend southeast during today and tomorrow. A cold front
will approach the southwest corner of the State on Saturday evening.
Forecast for the rest of Thursday 8 August
Chance of light showers over western parts of the South West Land Division and
the eastern Eucla. Possible morning fog over the inland South West Land
Division, Gascoyne and northern Goldfields.
Forecast for Friday 9 August
Chance of light showers southwest of Lancelin to Bremer Bay. Possible morning
fog over inland parts of the South West Land Division.
Forecast for Saturday 10 August
Showers developing southwest of a line Lancelin to Albany.
Forecast for Sunday 11 August
Showers southwest of a line Carnarvon to Israelite Bay. Thunderstorms possible
southwest of Perth to Albany and along the south coast to Bremer Bay. Possible
morning fog over the western Gascoyne.
The next routine forecast will be issued at 4:30 pm WST Thursday.
