Weather Situation – Northern Western Australia
A trough lies over the western Pilbara, moving east on Friday, while a weak
ridge is over the North Interior. A cloud band associated with a frontal
passage over southern WA will bring light rain to southern and western Pilbara
on Friday morning before clearing by the weekend. A new ridge over central
parts of the State over the weekend will bring another southeast change.

Weather Situation – Southern and Central Western Australia
A cold front is moving across the Gascoyne, southern Interior and Eucla while a
cold airmass moves across southern parts of the State during today. A ridge
will then develop over central parts of the State later Friday, allowing a
westerly flow with embedded weak troughs to continue over southwest WA into the
weekend. Another cold front will move through from late Monday.

Forecast for the rest of Friday 19 July
Showers southwest of a line from Port Hedland to Warburton, easing to just a
chance of a shower over the western Gascoyne and eastern inland parts of the
South West Land Division. Showers mainly contracting to the south coast during
the morning. Isolated gusty thunderstorms and local hail about the coast from
Bremer Bay to Israelite Bay contracting east during the morning and clearing by
early afternoon. Windy about southeast WA. Damaging wind gusts possible along
the south coast, easing later Friday morning. Tides will be higher than normal
and surf will be hazardous for coastal activities between Cape Leeuwin and
Eucla.

Forecast for Saturday 20 July
Showers southwest of Jurien Bay to Hopetoun. Chance of morning fog and frosts
over northeast parts of the South West Land Division, southeast Gascoyne,
Goldfields and southern Interior.

Forecast for Sunday 21 July
Showers southwest of Jurien Bay to Esperance. Chance of morning fog and frosts
over the southeast Gascoyne, northern Goldfields and southern Interior.

Forecast for Monday 22 July
Showers southwest of Denham to Esperance, mainly later in the day. Chance of
morning fog and frosts over the southeast Gascoyne, northern Goldfields and
southern Interior.

The next routine forecast will be issued at 4:30 pm WST Friday.
