Weather Situation – Northern Western Australia
A ridge over northern Australia is directing a cooler east to southeast change,
with the ridge expected to weaken on Friday. A cloud band associated with a
frontal passage over southern WA will bring light rain to southern and western
Pilbara on Thursday and on Friday before clearing by the weekend.

Weather Situation – Southern and Central Western Australia
A strong cold front is approaching the west coast, moving through far southwest
parts in the evening and then further north and east on Thursday. A ridge will
then develop over central parts of the State later Friday, allowing a westerly
flow with embedded weak troughs to continue over southwest WA into the weekend.

Forecast for the rest of Thursday 18 July
Widespread showers and rain southwest of Exmouth to Eyre decreasing to a chance
of a shower elsewhere southwest of Karratha to Eucla. Chance of gusty
thunderstorm near the coast between Perth and Albany. Heavy falls possible over
the Central West, Lower West and western parts of the Central Wheat Belt. Small
hail possible south of Harvey to Bremer Bay. Windy at times in the morning
across northern WA, windy across southern WA throughout the day. Tides will be
higher than normal about the coast between Geraldton and Bunbury.

Forecast for Friday 19 July
Showers southwest of a line from Port Hedland to Warburton, easing to just a
chance of a shower over the western Gascoyne and eastern inland parts of the
South West Land Division. Isolated gusty thunderstorms about the coast from
Cape Naturaliste to Israelite Bay. Small hail possible south of a line Mandurah
to Corrigin to Esperance. Windy about southeast WA. Tides will be higher than
normal and surf will be hazardous for coastal activities between Cape Leeuwin
and Esperance.

Showers over the South West Land Division, mainly over the western districts.
Chance of morning fog and frosts over northern parts of the South West Land
Division, southeast Gascoyne, Goldfields and southern Interior.

Forecast for Sunday 21 July
Showers over the South West Land Division, mainly over the western districts.
Chance of morning fog and frosts over northern parts of the South West Land
Division, southeast Gascoyne, Goldfields and southern Interior.
