Weather Situation – Northern Western Australia
A broad trough lies over parts of the Pilbara and Kimberley. A new ridge
building through northern Australia will bring a cooler southeast change from
today.
Weather Situation – Southern and Central Western Australia
A ridge is strengthening over southern WA before weakening and moving east on
Wednesday. A strong cold front will approach the west coast during Wednesday,
moving through far southwest parts in the evening and then further north and
east on Thursday. A ridge will then develop over central parts of the State
later Friday.
Forecast for the rest of Tuesday 16 July
Light showers over far eastern parts of the South East Coastal district, Eucla
and adjacent South Interior. Chance of morning fog over southeastern parts of
the South West Land Division, southern Goldfields and Eucla. Chance of morning
frost over the eastern southern Interior. Windy across central and northern WA.
Forecast for Wednesday 17 July
Showers developing southwest of a line from Denham to Bremer Bay, mainly later
in the day. Showers tending to rain over the southwest district in the evening.
Chance of morning fog over far eastern parts of the South East Coastal
district, southeast Goldfields, Eucla and adjacent South Interior. Chance of
morning frost over the southern Interior. Windy across western and northern WA.
Forecast for Thursday 18 July
Widespread showers and rain southwest of Exmouth to Eyre decreasing to a chance
a shower elsewhere southwest of Karratha to Eucla. Chance of thunderstorms and
small hail near the coast between Perth and Albany.
Forecast for Friday 19 July
Showers southwest of a line from Port Hedland to Warburton. Just a chance of a
shower over the western Gascoyne and inland South West Land Division. Isolated
thunderstorms along the south coast. Small hail possible south of Mandurah to
Esperance.
The next routine forecast will be issued at 4:30 pm WST Tuesday.
